At Vagdia & Holmes, we believe that strong communities are built on compassion, support, and meaningful action. That is why we are proud to be sponsoring three young carers, in partnership with Carers Trust Heart of England, to attend the Young Carers Festival 2026.

Young carers are children and young people who help to look after a family member who may have a disability, illness, mental health condition, or substance dependency. Their contribution is often unseen, yet it carries significant responsibility. Many young carers balance school, friendships, and personal development alongside the demands of caregiving, often with limited time for themselves.

The Young Carers Festival, organised by YMCA Fairthorne Group, provides a unique opportunity for these young people to step away from their daily responsibilities. The festival is designed to offer a safe, supportive, and enjoyable environment where young carers can relax, take part in activities, and connect with others who understand their experiences. For many, it is a rare chance to simply enjoy being young.

Our relationship with Carers Trust Heart of England is particularly meaningful. Dhiran Vagdia, Director at Vagdia & Holmes, also serves as Chair of the Trustees at the Trust. This connection gives us a deeper understanding of the challenges young carers face, as well as the vital role the organisation plays in supporting them across the region.

As a practice with a long-standing commitment to community-focused projects, we recognise the importance of supporting initiatives that have a tangible and lasting impact. Our work often centres on creating spaces that serve people, whether through community facilities, places of worship, or residential environments. Supporting young carers is a natural extension of this ethos, investing not only in places, but in people.

By sponsoring places at the Young Carers Festival, we hope to contribute in a small but meaningful way to the wellbeing of these young individuals. Giving them time to rest, build friendships, and create positive memories is something we are honoured to support.
